Dear Rafting Creek Elementary School Lion Family,
I am honored to introduce myself as the newly appointed principal of Rafting Creek Elementary School. I am excited to be joining this outstanding school and community. I’m looking forward to building relationships with students, staff, parents and guardians as we work together to develop an even stronger community. I am originally from Columbia, South Carolina and after graduating from Winthrop University, I started my teaching career in Sumter County as a band director and then assistant principal.
In an effort to fully understand the needs of Rafting Creek I plan to spend time meeting with students, parents, and community members. I truly believe in creating positive relationships with all stakeholders. Positive relationships will benefit all students here at Rafting Creek Elementary School. I am aware of the great community involvement that supports Rafting Creek Elementary School and fully welcome on-going involvement with all stakeholders.
My goal is to ensure that all students are happy, healthy and safe. Together we will achieve the goals of providing challenging, meaningful and engaging learning experiences for all students. I will work to build upon the successes that have been achieved at Rafting Creek Elementary School by setting clear expectations and building positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders.
I am blessed to have a wonderful family. I am married and have two children. Bella who is 7 years old and enjoys dancing and Bryson who is 4 years old and loves monster trucks.
I am honored to be selected to lead Rafting Creek Elementary School as Principal. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Penelope Martin-Knox, Superintendent, and the Sumter School District Board of Trustees for entrusting me to lead such a wonderful community school.
Mr. Brandon Wells, Principal
